2. The personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact and account data — name, company, email address, telephone number, delivery and billing addresses.
  • Order and transaction data — products purchased, order history and payment reference information (we do not store full card details).
  • Recruitment data — information you provide when applying for a role, including your CV and cover letter.
  • Correspondence — the content of enquiries and messages you send us.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, browser type, device information and how you use our website, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see section 7). These are only collected where you have given consent.

3. How we use your data and our legal basis

  • To provide products and services — legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To respond to enquiries and provide support — legal basis: our legitimate interests, or steps taken at your request prior to a contract.
  • To process job applications — legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering an employment contract, and our legitimate interests in recruitment.
  • For marketing communications — legal basis: your consent, or our legitimate interest in marketing to existing customers about similar products (soft opt-in). You can withdraw consent or opt out at any time (see section 4).
  • For website analytics and improvement — legal basis: your consent, given through our cookie banner.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations — legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

4. How we manage and record marketing consent

Where we rely on your consent to send marketing communications, we record the date, time and method by which that consent was given, and retain that record for as long as we rely on the consent. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting info@midlandtyres.ie. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Sharing your data

We may share your personal data with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf (for example IT hosting, payment processing, delivery and email providers), under written contracts requiring them to protect your data.
  • Professional advisers, and regulatory or law-enforcement bodies where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

6. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, and to comply with our legal, accounting and reporting obligations. Retention periods vary by data type; further detail is available on request.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them. Non-essential cookies — analytics (Microsoft Clarity) and marketing (Google Tag Manager) — are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner, and you can allow each category independently. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Irish data protection law you have the right to access your data, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@midlandtyres.ie.

9. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
